Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to read our stories, give, apply for a trip and reach our team, whatever device, browser or assistive technology they use.

Our goal

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We check every page with automated tools and by hand: with a keyboard alone, at screen sizes from small phones to large monitors, zoomed to 200% and 400%, and with reduced motion. Our last full review was in October 2026.

What we do

  • Photos which carry meaning have a short description; decorative ones stay silent.
  • Every page works with a keyboard alone, shows where you are with a clear outline and offers a link to skip to the main content.
  • Words keep strong contrast against their background, including words over photos.
  • Animations stop when your device asks for reduced motion, and nothing flashes.
  • Every form field has a label, and mistakes are explained in words next to the field.

Known limits

  • Gifts and the donor portal run on Fundraise Up, a separate service, and follow its accessibility. If its checkout gets in your way, you can give by check or through your workplace instead (see other ways to give), or email us and we will help.
  • Our videos play on Vimeo. If you would like a written description of one, email us.

Tell us

If anything on this site is hard to use, please email us at [email protected]. The page and what you were trying to do help us most. We will reply and fix what we can.
