Day 6 - “You guys keep us going”

Sometimes you wonder how significant (or insignificant) the work you are doing is. Is it making a difference?  Is it helping? 

And then you sit across the table from someone who is serving day after day after day and they share words that echo, “you guys keep us going.”

When a team travels to serve, there are always plans and objectives.  But when it comes down to it, there is a finite amount of work that can be done in a specific time frame.

But what becomes most important is the relationships.  It’s about being present with those who are doing the day-to-day work.  It’s about bringing encouragement to those getting their hands dirty daily.

And the thing about relationships is they are sustainable over time. From 501 Collective’s first trip in April to this trip, relationships have been sustained and grown. And when our team arrived in Suceava this time, there was a whole new trust and friendship amongst each other.

This was shown not only in the work done together but the laughs shared and the late night dinners that went until 10 or 11pm almost ever night.

Because the trip isn’t just about building and serving but about being together.
